Happy Sunday everyone! My head is currently spinning with all the great information I took home from the Writer's Digest Conference this weekend. I'll keep this short and hopefully not too erratic.
On Wednesday I worked on revising my goals with a more deadline-driven schedule. Having markers to revise chunks of pages really motivates me - and I was a little lost on how to start back up. Here's the geektastic calendar I used for planning my new schedule:
I also created a checklist of what needs to be done within each group of pages I'm revising during that purple section. I'm one of those people who LOVES marking off boxes and crossing out items on a list. Geektastic!.
my darling checklist |
This honestly isn't my way of procrastinating - after I organized my critique group notes into the checklist and created hard deadlines, I became super focused and more productive. My updated goals for this round can be found here.
How have the first couple weeks of goals been working out for you, team ROW80?
YOU are a woman after my own heart. Wowzers! I love the organization and color coding. Girl...ahhhhmazing!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope the writer's conference went well for you! Hopefully, you do a post on it. :)
ReplyDeleteI also like having checklists. Somehow, they motivate me, as does post-its and highlighters.
Good luck with your goals!
I love stuff like this too. I have many checklists and calendars for my revision as well. Good luck! I, for one, need many write nights in my future!
ReplyDeleteI"m a color-coder too!!! I have an excel sheet I use to track my wordcount. :D Good luck with your upcoming week!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your freelance writing in February. :)
Keep Writing!

Geektastic...LOVE IT. Sounds like you got a lot out of the conference and have a solid plan of action. Way to go. Wishing you a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Natalie. Love the color-coding and organization! If that works for you, go for it!
ReplyDeleteThough it wouldn't work for me lol I need certain freedom ... like my plot outlines---everything is planned very loosely.
Have a great week ;)
So am I a colour-coder :) I have an A1 monthly timetable on my office wall; at-a-glance I cane see what's what. Your goals are sensible as they are SMART and I love your positive attitude :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your goals this week.
